Almeda Sims WWTP and Sludge Processing

City of Houston – Houston, Texas

IDS played a key role in the rehabilitation of the Almeda Sims WWTP sludge processing facilities by offering expert construction management and field observation services throughout the project. Our team coordinated and attended crucial meetings, ensuring productive communication between all stakeholders. IDS was responsible for contract administration, while closely monitoring the progress of construction, reviewing and processing contractor pay estimates, documents, and change orders.

Understanding the complexity of the project, which involved several shutdowns across different facilities, IDS worked closely with the City’s operations team to minimize disruptions. Regular coordination meetings were held to carefully plan each shutdown, and we collaborated with both City officials and construction inspectors to devise strategies that would ensure continued operational efficiency throughout the rehabilitation process. This approach ensured that the proposed improvements were completed smoothly, without compromising the facility’s ability to serve the community.
